Sam in a Nutshell
From the upper level of a makeshift fortress, composed of drooping comforters and bed sheets, held in place by knots and laundry baskets, protected by pillows against enemy intrusion, more commonly known as ‘parents’, a 7-year-old began to dream. From his top bunk, in a home on Detroit’s Eastside, a kid found sovereignty and belief in those dreams, nothing less than the very fortress in which he had created.

In addition to this being about me, it is also equally about YOU. Your very visit to this page, is in part a dream come true. Some of life's biggest plans were drafted inside of that fortress. The very idea of NOW is truly an honor and substantiates the belief that, dreams do come true.
I have traveled the world telling the stories of others, while unraveling the story of myself. Earning the right to call 5 states and a few countries, home. Upon returning from Russia, I celebrated my passport's 40th tattoo, also known as another passport stamp.
I have worked inside nearly a dozen newsrooms in four regions of the country since my start as an ambitious shadowing teenager while in high school; including as an assignment editor, production assistant, media coordinator, associate and field producer, media and video manager, as well as a reporter.
In and out of the newsroom, I have detailed and managed the assignments of editors, reporters and photographers in addition to helicopter crews. I have pieced together live shots with few words and little information and have overseen the production of stories coming full circle, changing people’s lives in the process. This is what I’ve dreamt about, being a part of something big, this is BIG. I’m excited to impact the world with you.
